About This Chapter
This chapter presents an overview of the Microsoft Windows 2000
operating system, and the four products that make up this family. The Windows
2000 family of products consists of Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 2000
Server, Windows 2000 Advanced Server, and Windows 2000 Datacenter
Server.
Before You Begin
To complete this chapter
- You must have the working knowledge of using Microsoft
Windows NT 4.0. See "Prerequisites" for more
details.
- You must have the working knowledge of installing and
configuring Windows NT 4.0.
- You must have an understanding of Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol (DHCP), Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS), Internet
Protocol (IP) subnetting, and routing.
